It’s been one week since Edgar Wright’s heist movie masterpiece Baby Driver (read our five star review here) screeched onto the big screen, offering audiences a fun and, more importantly, unique alternative to the usual Summer blockbusters. It’s success has even seen Sony approach Wright about a potential sequel. But few people know that this movie has been in development since 1994. Proof of that can found in the music video for Mint Royale’s Blue Song that Wright directed way back in 2003. Starring Noel Fielding (as well as Fielding’s Mighty Boosh co-hort Julian Barret and Wright regulars Michael Smiley and Nick Frost) in the role that would eventually go to Ansel Elgort, it adapts the movies opening and showcased what the director had planned for the future hit. The worst thing about it is that it makes me long for a version of the movie with this cast. Check it out for yourself below.

And while this teaser trailer doesn’t give much of the story away, we’re in for one hell of a ride. Full Trailer For Neill Blomkamp’s Oats Studios Volume One
Unknown
Juni 06, 2017
Last week, Neill Blomkamp teased his mysterious new project Oats Studio, a series of experimental short films available exclusively online. The sci-fi themed shorts, ultimately serving as tests for full length feature films, will be released in a series of volumes, with Volume One, coming to Youtube and gaming platform Steam in the coming months, serving as a testing ground to see if there is an audience for them, and if that audience will pay for a Volume Two. The first, official for Volume One has arrived, giving us a real taste of what Blomkamp’s grand experiment has in store for us.
But a series of shorts isn’t just what Oats will be ultimately, with Blomkamp wanting to give fans something more interactive. That’s where Steam comes in. Speaking to Verge, the director elaborated what his plans for Oats actually are:
I needed a place that I could sell short films, and it felt like iTunes or any of the obvious outlets were massively lacking in any other avenues besides the films themselves. In other words: they don’t give users the ability to look at all of the behind the scenes artwork in any real way. The more I thought about that, the more it became, ‘What if the users had access to all of the 3D files that we used for the visual effects?’ If we just gave that away with any one-time purchase and you could render stuff yourself? Or what if we just give away all of the raw footage of one of the pieces, and anyone in the audience could they recut the the entire thing themselves? Stems from all of the music, or voiceovers from the actors; I just wanted to open it up and let people remix it.
For information of Oats Studios, Check out the official website here.

Trailer For American Made
Unknown
Juni 05, 2017
Before they reunite for the Edge of Tomorrow sequel, Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman team up once again for American Made, the unbelievable true story of Barry Seal, a U.S. pilot recruited by the CIA to run of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history. Cruise is definitely in charming everyman territory here, something he truly excels at more than his many action roles.
There’s a lot to like about this trailer, especially the absurdist humour that will raise a fair few chuckles. Sure, this type of ordinary guy caught up in government intrigue story has been done a thousand times before, but the Cruise factor definitely makes this one to keep an eye on.

Final Trailer For Transformers: The Last Knight
Unknown
Juni 04, 2017
The fifth ground in the Transformers sandpit will be Michael Bay’s last, but it looks like the Master of Bayhem is going all out (well, more so than usual) with The Last Knight, which, as well as ending Bay’s tenure on the series, sets up a new shared universe for Hasbro’s long running line of toys. One final trailer has come our way, light on dialogue and story but heavy (obscenely so) on visual effects and explosions, with Bay seemingly blowing up everything he can on his way out. Check it out for yourself below.
Released: June 23rd
Synopsis: The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).

New Trailer For Baby Driver

Juni 01, 2017
Any movie from Edgar Wright is an automatic must-see, and Baby Driver is no different. A heist movie that synchs up its soundtrack with the car chases, it feels like vintage Wright: fresh, unique, and just a little bit crazy. A new trailer has come our way, giving us our best luck yet at what is store for us. I don’t need anymore trailers. I need this movie in front of my eyes right now!!
Released: 11th August (U.S.) 16th August (IRL/U.K.)
Synopsis: A talented, young getaway driver relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss, he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.

Trailer For Murder On The Orient Express
Unknown
Juni 01, 2017
You may have not been aware that a new version of Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, Murder on the Orient Express, was in the works, but now that the first trailer has arrived, it’s probably firmly on your radar now. Director Kenneth Branagh, also pulling double duty as master detective Hercule Poirot (sporting one of the most ridiculous, amazing moustaches ever), has assembled quite the cast here, including Judi Dench, Penélope Cruz, Willem Dafoe, Johnny Depp, Josh Gad, Derek Jacobi, Hamilton’s Leslie Odom, Jr., Michelle Pfeiffer, and Daisy Ridley, for probably the most stylish take on the classic tale yet.
Having grown up on multiple version of this story, on both t.v. and the big screen, I should feel jaded about yet another version, but the combination of the cast and Branagh’s incredibly polished directing style has me beyond excited for this.
Released: November 10th
Synopsis: What starts out as a lavish train ride through Europe quickly unfolds into one of the most stylish, suspenseful and thrilling mysteries ever told. From the novel by best selling author Agatha Christie, “Murder on the Orient Express” tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect. One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.

As you would expect from the the co-director of John Wick, David Leith’s Atomic Blonde is one combat heavy action flick, with Charlize Theron pushing her physicality to the limit as the lethal MI6 assassin Lorraine Broughton cuts a bloody swath through 1980’s Berlin. To see how psychical her role gets, look no further than this new clip which gives us an extended look at a pretty brutal fight scene, as well as a snippet of the movie’s awesome 80’s soundtrack. Check it out below.

Trailer For The Mountain Between Us

Mei 31, 2017
Based on the book by Charles Martin, The Mountain Between Us sees Idris Elba and Kate Winslet as two strangers forced into a battle for survival after a plane crash stands them atop a remote, snow covered mountain. A trailer for the movie, directed by the Oscar Nominate Hany Abu-Assad, has arrived, and while it may seem like survival movie 101, the two leads do at least make it an interesting prospect. There’s every chance this could be played as a two hander for the most part, and the pair do assume to have a good chemistry from what we can see here. Check it out for yourself below.

Neill Blomkamp Teases Mysterious New Project
Unknown
Mei 29, 2017
The last we heard of Neill Blomkamp, things weren’t going well for the South African director. His latest feature, Chappie, was the critical and financial hot people expected, and his proposed Alien 5 was canned as fast as it was green lit in favour of Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant. But you can’t keep a good director down, but his latest project is one I don’t think any one saw coming. Having made his name with short films like Alive in Joburg (the inspiration for District 9) and the Halo short Landfall, Blomkamp is heading back to that medium, but with a twist: this new series of experimental shorts, coming from the newly formed Oats Studios, will be going straight to online gaming platform Steam. Simply titled Oats: Volume 1, the first trailer for the project has come online, chock full of the usual fantastic visuals and unique concepts from the modern Sci-Fi master, with an appearance from Sigourney Weaver thrown in for good measure.
Several indie films and documentaries have already found their way on Steam in recent months, but this is the first time someone with serious mainstream clout will be working on the platform exclusively, and could lead to a new viable streaming service. Very little is known is know at this stage, but you better believe I’ll be watching Steam very closely over the next few months, waiting for these to arrive.

Watch The Deadpool Blooper Reel

Mei 29, 2017
Just when you Deadpool has given us all the hilarity it can, along comes this hilarious blooper reel that shows just how much fun Ryan Reynolds and co. had bring the Merc with the Mouth onto the big screen, including T.J. Miller spitting out more inventive insults. And, of course, it is incredibly NSFW, so watch where you watch this.
Trailer For Logan Lucky
Unknown
Mei 29, 2017
Featuring an impressive cast that includes Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Seth McFarlane, Hilary Swank, Katherine Waterson, and that new, raw talent Daniel Craig (wait till you watch the trailer to get that joke), Logan Lucky is pretty much Steven Soderbergh doing The Coen Brothers, and if this trailer is any indication, we’re in for quite the treat.
Sure, this is really just Soderbergh doing another heist movie, but the whole affair has an injection of a much more overt, absurd sense of humour than we’re used to from the uber-stylish director. And again, that cast is all kinds of awesome.
Released: August 18th
Synopsis: Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Final Trailer For Valerian
Unknown
Mei 24, 2017
It’s not long to go now until Luc Besson heads back to space for the first time since The Fifth Element, and to get us hyped for the frankly gorgeous looking passion project Valerian, one final trailer has come our way, treating our eyes once more to the striking visuals the movie seems to have an over abundance of.
Set to what seems like an epic reworking of Gangster’s Paradise (one that works incredibly well oddly enough), we don’t get much in the way of story. Which has been the way of all the trailers so far, relying on the visuals to do all the selling. Hopefully, the finished product has more of a narrative backbone and isn’t just style over substance.
Released: August 2nd
Synopsis: Rooted in the classic graphic novel series, Valerian and Laureline- visionary writer/director Luc Besson advances this iconic source material into a contemporary, unique and epic science fiction saga. Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) are special operatives for the government of the human territories charged with maintaining order throughout the universe. Valerian has more in mind than a professional relationship with his partner- blatantly chasing after her with propositions of romance. But his extensive history with women, and her traditional values, drive Laureline to continuously rebuff him.
Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger.

Go Behind The Scenes Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Unknown
Mei 24, 2017
Yesterday brought us some really new shots from The Last Jedi, via four rather gorgeous Vanity Fair covers (courtesy of photographer Annie Leibovitz). Now, even more images (including a heartbreaking shot of Carrie Fisher with her daughter Billie Lourd) have come our way, as well as more details of what Rian Johnson has in store for us. The big take aways are our first looks at the new characters, specifically Benicio Del Toro as the shady DJ and Laura Dern as Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo, a prominent member of the Resistance.
Johnson has also revealed some of the new planets and cities he will be playing in, namely Anch-To, the planet Luke has been living alone on for all these years, and Canto Bight, a glittering casino city Finn and other newcomer Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) find themselves in as the story progresses. Skellig Michael is famously subbing for Anch-To, and Johnson has revealed that Luke isn’t alone on picturesque rock in the middle of the ocean, sharing his new home with an 'indigenous race of caretaker creatures’ that he assures us are ‘not Ewoks’, who live in bee hive huts similar to the ones that the monks on Skellig lived in hundreds of years ago.
Canto Bight is an interesting setting. Basically space Monte Carlo, and home to ‘rich *ssholes’, it’s really the first time glamour and wealth has been portrayed in the Star Wars universe. Being set during an intergalactic Civil War, there wasn’t much call for us to visit high society. Time will tell if Johnson will be able to pull this shift in setting off.
A video has also come online, which takes us further behind the scenes, with the cats and crew letting us know how this differs for The Force Awakens

Spider-Man: Homecoming Gets A New Trailer - UPDATED
Unknown
Mei 24, 2017
UPDATE - Just when you thought one trailer was epic enough, a new international trailer has come on line, that puts more focus on Michael Keaton’s villainous The Vulture. But what makes the trailer is the found footage gag, set during the superhero showdown in Captain America: Civil War, that kick things off. Check it out below.
We’re over a month away from Spider-Mn swinging into the MCU where he rightfully belongs, and a new trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming has come our way, showcasing just how fun and bombastic this new take on ol’ webhead will be.
One of my major complaints of all of the big screen iterations of Spider-Man so far was that they never got was that Peter Parker was a kid with powers, and acted just like you would a kid would act when given amazing powers. He cracked wise, he messed around, he infuriated his enemies. Sure, The Amazing Spider-Man did this to a point, but barring the one battle with the Lizard on the Midtown High campus, it never really used this element of Spidey's character to its fullest. Not like here. Tom Holland really captures the sense of wonder that goes a long with being thrust into the world of superheroes. On top of that, this looks epic as heel, director Jon Watt’s striking the right balance between the humour and action.
Released: July 7th
Synopsis: A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

First Clip From The Mummy

Mei 23, 2017
Following the big reveal of their big classic monsters shared universe on Monday, Universal are going full tilt into hyping the first installment of Dark Universe, The Mummy, with the reveal of the first clip. Showcasing the movie’s dark atmosphere, humour, and the fact that Tom Cruise’s Nick Morton isn’t your typical action adventure lead, it does a good job of cluing us into what is in store for us.
Released: June 9th
Synopsis: Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
